How do you compare the sound of your analog front end with your digital front end?
I don't have a turntable, only digital. So I wonder if I should make the huge investment of time and money to get a top analog rig, or stay only digital.
Murataltuev, you got an amazing transport. The CEC TL-0 Transport sounds so analog. I heard it 5 years ago with an Audio Aero Dac. Is that the best sounding transport you've heard.
My cables now are the new Exemplar long linear crystal silver and charged Portal cables. I have never heard anything that even approaches these cables. I had thought their long linear crystal copper cables were the very best but I was wrong.
I am not likely to be trying other cables soon. Years of being an audiophile, however, hasten me to say that I might be at some point in the future trying other cables.
My cables are very special designed by Russian engineer. It consist of many 3mm wires. The core of each is steel (poor conductivity) with very thin layer of cooper. Unique design and very impressive result. I'm not searching for cables anymore.
Kops, I am presently using the BMC DAC1 PRE, M1 amps, and MCCI electronics with my Tidals. It is the best sound I have had with these speakers. The MCCI phono stage is just shockingly good.
hi Murat if you go with CEC check the original deigners of them who now make their own brand and it is B.M.C audio from Gemrany. You will hear a lot from BMC in the future.
Hi Mike! Thank you. I'm very impressed with Tidal electronics. But not much with Tidal speakers...may be need time :) I changed my speakers to deeply reconstructed Mirage M3 and constructing some special speakers with Altec paper cones and horns :) Looks like I'm switching to DIY for speakers and cables :)
You called it right concerning the ASI Liveline cable, I have the IC and it`s splendid! these will be very difficult to beat for natural musicality and realism.
All cables replaced by Acoustic System Liveline! Only some power cords from Argento left. Incredible result! Dramatically better resolution, dynamic and timbre accuracy! I don't know if better cable exist!
New digital cable arrived! Siltech Golden Ridge RCA. It sound slightly more transparent than Valhalla! Also Stealth Varidig Sextet BNC arrived as clock cable. Not very happy now, hope after warming up will be better. Inspired with Siltech result, I've ordered Siltech Golden Eagle BNC for clock. Will see how it is in compare with Sextet.
Photos attached, finally! Most of dCS works as heavy stand instead of clock! Computer transport sound is really much better when it placed on top of dCS Transport:)
I found better quality pictures! General view: http://soundex.ru/index.php?act=Attach&type=post&id=11395 Old DACs and Tidal: http://soundex.ru/index.php?act=Attach&type=post&id=11396 Vinyl: http://soundex.ru/index.php?act=Attach&type=post&id=11398
I forgot to say that I also had Emmlabs DAC2 and TSD1. Here is the 1 year old photos with Emmlabs and Berkeley: http://soundex.ru/index.php?act=Attach&type=post&id=11370 http://soundex.ru/index.php?act=Attach&type=post&id=11371 I'll post new ones with dCS, Linn and Lavry.
