Well, it has all changed again, I should just relist it as it has changed so many times since creating this as the "3rd" system. One thing is for sure, Ever Evolving has been accurate.
Awesome little digital tuner from the late 1980's.

I use this with a 160g iPod Classic.
PS Audio DigitalLink III
Mine has the Level 4 Cullen modifications.
Furman IT Reference 20i
This power conditioner and protection unit has made the biggest difference I have ever intruduced into a system; I wish I would have purchased something like this a long time ago!!!
Thanks, Brian...Did you look into the Wilson Sophias before deciding on the 802Ds?
Also, would be curious to hear your thoughts on the 802Ns vs the 802Ds...I have the opportunity to buy a pair of 802Ns for about 4K which, as you know is a very substantial savings...
There are many different styles and building methods in log homes, most with merit. A solid log can be a great insulator, there are plenty of solid log homes in Canada; one just needs to take time (and care) in sealing each log together real good.
The Kingpin is a sweet looking bike! As I alluded above, I really like the looks of the Victory line of bikes.
Are the solid logs harder to keep heat in? I know lots of people use split logs with insulation, but you're about as far north as a person can get in the US. Did you build the house?
My current bike is a Kingpin, prior to that I had a V92C. The new bike is much better. They made lots of improvements in six years!
Too bad the Delta series didn't work, but I guess our feminine side comes into play when it comes to gear. Looks are secondary to performance, or fulfillment. I've wondered how good the kW's were, I guess you answered that question.
LOL, a die hard rider! Anything from low 60's down can be one cold ride! Sorry for the HD / Victory confusion, I thought I saw a picture of you on a Harley. What model Victory do you have? They make some really nice looking bikes!!
I know what you mean about Sam, it appears he hasn't met a product he doesn't like.
The new Delta gear was great with the S805's, it also looked great, I received many comments; I really liked the touch screens too. When I added the 802D's it seemed I was running out of steam, maybe there was some other issue. A guy I know happened to call telling what a great match his new kW-500 was with his 802's; having one available near by I thought I'd give it a chance, it was clearly better in my system.
Thanks for the kind words on the house. For the record, it is a solid log house, all exterior walls are solid logs.
Brian I have the Victory out if it's over 40, and sometimes I will go as low as 35 if I haven't ridden in a while. It's never too hot to ride.
I have an older Classe, and I really like it a lot. It sounds better than the Krell FPB 700cx that I had prior to the Classe. BUT that's my system, and I've never heard the Musical Fidelity stuff. Sam Tellig likes it which makes me want to avoid it. I liked him better when he was an audio anarchist (go figure) than when he became a Europhile.
That of course doesn't mean the gear isn't good.
Anyway, your room and system always look great. My wife likes the log cabin look, and so do I.
Have you had time to enjoy the Harley in this warm spell we are in? Great riding weather, no?
Thanks for the kind words. Strangely enough, the kW500 works better with the 802D's than the Classe gear did, I had them both here at the same time. You "may" recall from my other postings that I was very happy with the Classe gear when using it with the Signature 805's. The kW500 is a very nice piece, one I have grown fonder of as time goes on.
Brian I must have missed a turn, but one of these days I'm gonna find that place! It looks better every time I check on it. How do you like the Musical Fidelity compared to the Classe?
I don't know what their room limitations would be but I have two toughts. 1) If you know you are changing rooms in the near future, buy with that room in mind; 2) Contact B&W, via their Web site, about your questions/concerns they may be very helpful in the matter. Obviously as big as they are you'd expect them to over power a very small room.
As for my thoughts on the 802D's, I am very happy with my purchase, but it has taken some changes for me to get to where I am at, I haven't posted a couple other changes I have made.
I am sure you know that most B&W speakers like power, these are no different; if possible take your amp and CDP to the dealer and hook them up, they are a lot of money.
I am curious to hear your thoughts on the 802Ds and room size. Can you give me a sense of what the minimum room size would need to be to truly appreciate these speakers? I have a Mac 6500 amp and a lector cd player and have been thinking of upgrading from my 704s when I move but have the bug to do it sooner rather than later but am stuck with a bit of a small room for the next 6 to 9 months.
We went to a cabin on a lake in Northeastern Connecticut - and it was more like the white hot north last week. Anyway, I took possession of the kW on Friday, so it is obviously still burning in, but so far it is simply amazing with the Watt Puppies. Even though they are fairly sensitive speakers, the Puppy presents a difficult load, and as of now I am hearing for the first time what reviewers talk about when they refer to "taut" bass. Plus I am learning just how much detail the Eclipse CDP serves up. I'll be updating my system soon...
Thanks Bon; I took a look at your system(s), I really like your systems and rooms as well; "they" say that it isn't the best for sonics to have the TV between the speakers but I do wish sometimes that I could place mine in that position as it would make the asthetics in our room better. I really like the decor and colors in the room of your first system.
Thanks. I purchased the kW-500. I plan on keeping the Sim for now - it is indeed quite nice and obviates the need, in my opinion, to go all hi-rez, at least for now. My new amp should arrive when I get back from vacation on the 5th. 9 days w/o a system should cleanse the aural palatte. It will replace my separates, which may seem crazy, but I know what I heard. BTW, you decor/room are pretty amazing as well. When I get back from the great white north and letthe system settle in I'll post my findings on my system page (which hopefully will be "done" by then...)
Thanks for the kind words. The CDP is a A5 not the kW SACD. I purchased my kW 500 used, I didn't nothice it change any after I purchased it; it had just over 100 hours hen I purchased it.
You purchased the kW 500 or the kW SACD player? I see you have the Sim Audio Eclipse--I have heard great things about that CDP, what are your thoughts about it? Btw, nice system yourself!!
Brian, Beautiful system! Is that the kW SACD player in your rack? I recently heard the kW 500 - I can only imagine the synergy you must have the B&Ws. Has the kW 500 changed any during break-in? I was so thrilled I placed my order last night - a mere week after posting my system in the Done foe Now forum - Oops :)
Where did you go to school in MI? I am from MI. I can't imagine driving one of those in the winter. So this girl was impressed with your stick shift you say?
Brian, I was doing a yahoo search on some component and your website was one of the results.
No firebird here but they are classics.
In college I owned a '67 camaro, 6 cyl, with a 3-speed on the tree. On the way to lunch one day the stick shift on the steering column impressed this one girl so much, we dated for the next 3 years.
Bought it for $400 with 67k miles. In the winter time (in Michigan) with ice on the convex road I'd be driving to school with the car angled about 25 degrees.
I am very curious as to how you "stumbled" on to my Web page, what were you searching for?
As for all the cars/trucks, the only vehicles I owned that are shown on my site are a 1970 SS Chevelle andd a lifted 1978 Chevy pick up, the rest are basically pictures I found on the 'net, some will be pictures I took at shows. A few years after selling the Chevelle I was interested in another Hot Rod, so I kept saving pictures that I found and then posting them on my site, it has been awhile since I have done any of that.
Do you have a Firebird, something from the past or something you have longed for?
System edited: I purchased the Musical Fidelity A5 CDP a couple weeks ago to "match" the kW500. It does not have the form and function of the Classe, but then again what does; the LCD screen on the Classe is awesome. The A5 makes up for it in perfomance, the key areas I noticed were it being more holographic and better ambience, maybe a little more body.
