Hi, Like your choice of best sound per $$$ equipment. Did you consider the Ortofon 2M Black cartridge with Stogi-S? Just curious because you went against the grain with the AT-OC9. Most put Shelter or Benz-Micro on the Stogi-S. Great mural, enjoy!!!
I have them pointed inward because they are true omni and gives me freedom to position them anyhow. They appear more prominent in current position. Thank you for your visit.
Beautiful room and speakers. I own the Stratos amps (extreme) myself. I had the Tempest and upgraded that to the Candela. For an added jump in performance you could make that switch and purchase a separate phono component. You could also look into Klaus's new Kismet phono preamp. I watched a recent episode of House and your speakers were a part of an apartment setup. The crazed doctor has some taste after all.
I just added a Jeff Rowland Continuum 500 to my Duevel Bella Luna set, an amazing amplifier and drives the BLD's so much better than anything I've heard....
I stumbled across your system again in one of my late-night surfing epsiodes - and I am still awestruck by the beauty of those speakers - wow!
I have a friend (audio salesman) who has some Klipschorns that he got directly from the factory way back in the late 70s. They are made from Zebrawood and have a blonde streak reminsicent of your speakers - absolutely stunning.
You mentioned that you might like to try tube amplification. If so, you may want to consider auditioning the Butler tube/MOSFET hybrid amps. I recently purchased one for my system and the sonic improvement was remarkable. Soaring highs, sweet mids, and thunderous bass were achieved. The Gallo speakers really "like" the tube sound, and I'm thinking your speakers might respond well to one of them, too.
Butler offers an in-home trial period, and I also see them once in a while here on Audiogon. In fact, that's how I got mine. Boy am I glad I made that move!
hi, Luckily, I listen to music in available light. so i do not switch on the halogens. It gives me a state of trance with the giant image on the wall. At night, there is so much light coming from outside (New York City) ! thank you.
Hi, Vishal ... not sure, but I'd think the halogen would introduce line noise ... I love the simplicity of your system, and especially the speakers, ... keep it this way so you can concentrate on the joy of music ... although I agree that you might want to try appropriate tube amplification ... you'll find yourself amazed by how palpable everything becomes
Vishal, I am a good friend and business partner of Ted Lindblad's, the U.S. importer of Duevel Loudspeakers. I just wanted to say you have a magnificent system setup, absolutely beautiful room. I would suggest, however, that if you are currently using a solid state amp, you may want to try a tube amp, just as a trial to start. The Bella Luna's are a very vocal speaker and with their omni-directional characteristics they virtually talk to each other. Tube amps allow them to breathe much more openly with each other than any solid state amp ever could. Glad to hear you enjoy them as much as I do. Enjoy the music, cheers!
