Not a lot of recent traffic on this one.I wanted to make comment on the 50 and over issue for being able to afford the good stuff. I got around my youthful poverty by attending tons of free to inexpensive concerts at music school at the University of Wisconsin, many as a performer in the larger works. I am in my mid fifties now, and have slipped vocally. Additionally, my hearing is not half as acute, with the normal roll-off of the high pitches. I still enjoy the music, both live performances and recordings. None the less, the youthful discovery period of the fine masterworks is largely over.
It would be hard to imagine enjoying those days any more than I did. It is simply a factor of fresh, unblemished ears and psyche. While I have contributed more professionally in recent years, the trade off for perceiving the new experiences is a difficult one.
