This setup does everything extremely well the speakers are articulate as well as dynamic. From Auturo Delmoni to David Bowie presented as the perrformance dictates. The room is 19' x 26' with a 12' vaulted ceiling. Everything is plugged into the Powercell 10 MK3. It is plugged into a SR red outlet and a dedicated 20 amp circuit.
I was looking for something that was similar to my Wadia no real surprise the Cantata fit the bill.
Synergistic Research Fire Wire and Galileo USB
I am using a SR cabeling between the LaCie 6 TB hard drive and the active USB cable from the Mini to the Cantata
Synergistic Research Powercell MK III
Everything is plugged into the Powercell. Non Current limiting
Synergistic Research Tranquility Bases
Using them under the mac Mini and Hard Drive as well as the Cantata.
Synergistic Research Transporter Ultra SE
The transporter replaced all of the MPC's cleaned up the wiring and a nice improvement in the sound.
Synergistic Research MIG's
Using these under the Tranquility bases and the Hard drive. Amazing little devices.
Synergistic Research Element Copper Silver 20 amp
These are used on the Krell 400's
Synergistic Research Element Copper 15 amp
These power the CLX's
Martin Logan Depth I,s
After listening to a couple different ML subs, I felt these were the best match, they do have the CLX modules installed
Synergistic Research Atmosphere level 4 Speaker Cables
Synergistic Research Atmosphere level 3 D power cord
This is powering the Cantata
Synergistic Research Galileo Speaker and interconnect Cells
Synergistic Research Atmosphere level 3 balanced interconnects
Synergistic Research Acoustic Art System
Harmonic Resolution Systems Damping plates
Used on the Krells
Roon Rock RS9 RS9
8th Generation Intel Core i8 8GB RAM 128 GB SSD system and database drive 4TB SSD music storage drive
Completely silent. Extremely fast. Rock Solid. The on-board 4TB SSD makes album look ups substantially quicker than network attached drives. No more worries with network issues or wondering if ROON is still running as an App on the network. The perfect way to run ROON.
System edited: Moving to Computer Audio had been a change for the much better. High Res. music and the overall convenience as well as a great improvement in sound. will never have me looking back. There have been a couple other changes that I will add later,
Joris, even better. The S.R. Transporter for the active shields are much better than the Galileo MPCs. I sold all my Galileo's for a Transporter and got big improvements. Demo one from The Cable Company and see for yourself. Go with what your ears tell you and have fun.
Hi, I see you have the SR Qauttro to power the SR cables. I use the Galileo MPC's (housed in a Vibex Rhodium Powerblock )and found out that they have a huge influence on the sound depending the underground/tuningfeet used. It is worth a try to place your Quattro on proper tuningfeet/spikes or rack. You will not believe what you hear. BTW thx for the post on the Speaker Cells. Joris.
I agree that this is a simply elegant system. Great selection of gear and I bet it sounds magnificent.
Two questions: 1) Have your tried a Powercell 10SE? 2) I tried the Hologram A on my preamp and on my Krell FPB-600C and it fell on its face. Much preferred the T2 on preamp and T3UHC on the Krell. Have you tried these cords as well?
I am looking for a truly superior power cord(s) and the A is in my sights. I wonder if you would share you thoughts what it brings to your system and if, dollar for dollar, it is worth the investment.
System edited: I just recently went all Tesla with the replacement of all 5 power cords. The improvements are outstanding all areas detail, imaging, extension on both ends, etc. I am completely satisfied with all of the Tesla cables.
System edited: Upgraded Cables, I recently changed my interconnect to the Synergistic Research Tesla Apex, I was not prepared for the overall improvement.
Very well, have you elegant system. Symple and I'thing that it is very musically.I've had a pair of ML Sequel II in my system many years ago and I remember the great soundstage and transparent scene.
very nice system. I have a question. I have also Martin Logan Prodigy loudspeackers. I was wondering what was the placement of yours related to the rear wall. My system is "a never ending story". I am moving soon, back to France and I am afraid I won't have same space as before.
Check out the Karan Acoustics Amplifers from Yugoslavia. You will be amazed.I feel that some of the better solid state amps come from overseas.Avatar Audio in Miami florida is the importer. The products are on display now at CES.I like the rest of your system.I see you use your Wadia as a controller.Karan also do a Preamplifer, but i guess the Wadia will do the trick. You will have to compare.I dont think the Krell is in the same class as the Karan. Cheers.
System edited: I finally got rid of the BIG BOX and the Imaging has improved drastically. I also have to give a plug for Tigerdirect.com I ordered the Plasma set on Tuesday and had it on Thursday. a very professional outfit.
If you do a search here and google for Great Northern you will come up with quite a few sites. The Wadia 861 on its own is a fantastic player with the GN mods it goes to another level improvements in all areas.
I finally got rid of the BIG BOX and could not be happier.
Congratulations on you elegant system. I have a Wadia 861. Where can I go to learn more about the GN statement mod? Do you notice any soundstage degration due to reflections from the big screen TV? I had a similar setup at one time and the TV really scrambled the sound stage.
System edited: After living with this basic system for three years I still get a kick out of it. basically just updated the interconnects and power cords
try the foundation 2 or 3 line conditioner and you going to hear more details and better tight bass.I have the first aerius with ADYTON pre- and power amplifier, philip cd 80 very old but what harmonics and detail and analisys plus cables. very simple [thanks] EDGAR
Not a lot of recent traffic on this one.I wanted to make comment on the 50 and over issue for being able to afford the good stuff. I got around my youthful poverty by attending tons of free to inexpensive concerts at music school at the University of Wisconsin, many as a performer in the larger works. I am in my mid fifties now, and have slipped vocally. Additionally, my hearing is not half as acute, with the normal roll-off of the high pitches. I still enjoy the music, both live performances and recordings. None the less, the youthful discovery period of the fine masterworks is largely over.
It would be hard to imagine enjoying those days any more than I did. It is simply a factor of fresh, unblemished ears and psyche. While I have contributed more professionally in recent years, the trade off for perceiving the new experiences is a difficult one.
You want simple well than I will give you simple? A Bose wave radio let me tell you guy's dynamite sound and can be placed any where I want. Just try to beat that for simplicity LOL.
