well a somewhat gaggle of geese, Khorns,B&W,Linn....Mcintosh,Vtl, Linn Naim...also have 2 Dynaco st70s,nicely restored...basically 3 systems...large,medium and small....listen to them all, can mix and match pretty easily....all for now. Would love to hear the Mac d/a converter though.
Hi thanks for the comments, I stillhave my Linn Wakonda/LK100 and it is a good combo, sounds very good on the Khorns. I find the Mac gear, lush, open and inviting, which I like. A linn preamp should work into the Pass Aleph, but I think you will find a Linn amp sounds better.
Haven't heard the older Mac gear, and yes I find it more inviting than the Linn, BUT it costs more, so I take nothing away from the Linn gear.
Hi again thanks for the input and respones, been away for a few weeks...to the question of Mac..I love it, it just sound great to me, I have heard alot of hi end gear in my home and the Mac just draws me into the music....
Its a tough one on the C46 and the C2200 both are great and both do things differently, the c46 is clean and dynamic, the c2200 open and lush but with good dynamics, I really like the C46 alot and do use the eq...not too great extremes, just to fine tune the sound. Lately I have been using the c46/252 and the c2200/275 both are mighty nice...but I mix and match with nice results also.
Bigjoe..I haven't had a chance to try 2 252s but i really want to give it a go.
I have always been a big believer in a proper source, really good electronics into modesy but a good quality speaker..at first it seems like overkill but it isn't. I have heard systems with far more expensive speakers that to me don't sound as good....as far as the Khorns are concerned, they are big but so easy to drive and have a sound of their own (which I like). but I also like a good dynamic speaker...hence the multiple set ups.
I use them all and enjoy them equally, it just depends on my mood, thanks
