I hadn't come across DEQX yet. It seems like it does quite a lot for the price tag. Separate components--just a dac + crossover network--would far exceed the 2000.00 price. I'm glad you mentioned it. It's been added to my radar.

I agree, Class D has arrived. I have legacy solid state gear, so I'll be living in the past for awhile longer. My system just went up: Turn-of-Last-Century Mid-Fi Minimalist. By "equalization," are you referring to DSP? On those notes, I would add Active Speakers as well.

I'm in the same boat. Living space, etc. I also biamp, and I also consider incorporating crossovers eventually. I'll probably refrain until subs come into the mix. Then I'll have some decisions to make.
