Most amazing speakers I have ever experienced.... sound, design, efficiency, construction... breath taking... The J-1 is a special limited number of 10 produced in 2002. This pair is the last one; No. 10.
hello Pietro, This Jadis J1 is much larger than the Eurythmie ii. they stand a little over 2 m. The base is a crossover network take up about 20 cm. high. So without the base, the J1 is about 30 cm. taller than the Eurythmie ii. And the J1 weight about 200 kg. each. The only unit I can tell is the midlow are by Audax, made in France. They sound just wonderful.
Hello T_bone... For a pair of speakers this rare, I guess one just need lots of luck to run into one and even to own one... It's been quite a headache getting them from the US west coast to Bangkok by flight. All sorts of stories running through my head that there was going to be something wrong... but in fact, they are just perfect and gorgeous. My kid call them singing robots...lol To everyone surprise that the speakers are so efficient that just about any amp can drive them. I love them coupling with the vintage gears, but then i switch to the VTL. All and all the music just breathtaking. I would advise you to try the vintage amp, Mcintosh MC30 to run the bass... super super amazing. With my Tannoy Westminster which need more power to run them, the MC30 run every bit out of the Westminster, you can feel the bass from your feet on the floor where the VTL produce a lot less... still if you ever change hobby and want to let go of the Eurythmie....let me know....
With modern equipments... I had hooked up with Cello preamp running VTL 450 MB, better focus, more 3 dimensional and brighter on treble, but soundstage is not as huge and the bass is a lot less... at the moment, it's house shacking bass... I have plan to have this full Jadis system with Jadis preamp and amps in mind but I doubt that the Jadis amp can deliver such bass as the Mcintosh can...
thank you for your respond. The sound of these especial Jadis is a amazing. The soundstage is so so huge it's I am in the middle of the music. The bass is very punchy, i feel it in my chest. I am like have to get myself ready for a punch when there is big sound of a drum coming in the music. The clarity of the sound is so sparkling, very sweet.... song after song, I enjoy many songs I have never listen before on my cds... At the moment, I have vintage equipments running these Jadis. The speakers are amazing that only 35 watts of single tube amp can running them to rock level sounding...
