Most amazing speakers I have ever experienced.... sound, design, efficiency, construction... breath taking... The J-1 is a special limited number of 10 produced in 2002. This pair is the last one; No. 10.
hello Pietro, This Jadis J1 is much larger than the Eurythmie ii. they stand a little over 2 m. The base is a crossover network take up about 20 cm. high. So without the base, the J1 is about 30 cm. taller than the Eurythmie ii. And the J1 weight about 200 kg. each. The only unit I can tell is the midlow are by Audax, made in France. They sound just wonderful.
Dear Sir, Congratulation for your Jadis Model J1. I have had In the past the Jadis Eurythmie II and, if possible, I would like to have some information about you J1. Looking at your photos I can see some differences: tweeter is not the Fostex FT90H (witch one on J1? maybe JBL 075?); in the bass module I can see one woofer only that is in bass reflex configuration and not two JBL 2225H mounted face to face in isobaric configuration (is it correct?). Other two drivers in the Eurythmie II are: Beyma CP350Ti (midhigh) and Audax PR170M0 (midbass). The J1 are bigger than Eurythmie II (150x70x70cm 80Kg each)? I used my Jadis with Wavac HE805 amp that has the finesse of single ended triode paired to the energy and bass punch and control of solid state amps. To get better bass response from my Jadis I placed them on 5cm thick black granite platforms. Best regards Pietro Rome - Italy
Hello T_bone... For a pair of speakers this rare, I guess one just need lots of luck to run into one and even to own one... It's been quite a headache getting them from the US west coast to Bangkok by flight. All sorts of stories running through my head that there was going to be something wrong... but in fact, they are just perfect and gorgeous. My kid call them singing robots...lol To everyone surprise that the speakers are so efficient that just about any amp can drive them. I love them coupling with the vintage gears, but then i switch to the VTL. All and all the music just breathtaking. I would advise you to try the vintage amp, Mcintosh MC30 to run the bass... super super amazing. With my Tannoy Westminster which need more power to run them, the MC30 run every bit out of the Westminster, you can feel the bass from your feet on the floor where the VTL produce a lot less... still if you ever change hobby and want to let go of the Eurythmie....let me know....
Patpong, Congratulations on your purchase. I have the former model of the Eurythmies and since I got them 7+yrs ago, I have never wanted to replace them. I have used low power amps (8W 2A3 PP amps, 13W EAR 859s) and higher power amps (VTL 450 Sigs) and feel the answer lies between. I find them extremely detailed, probably a little euphonic (upper bass rise), somewhat sensitive to where the wall is, and capable of staggeringly good (and house-shaking if you want it) bass. I sometimes get the feeling they should be slightly elevated (on mine, the crossover is separate, not built-in, so height may already be different) and on something like stillpoints. I may try something like that soon.
With modern equipments... I had hooked up with Cello preamp running VTL 450 MB, better focus, more 3 dimensional and brighter on treble, but soundstage is not as huge and the bass is a lot less... at the moment, it's house shacking bass... I have plan to have this full Jadis system with Jadis preamp and amps in mind but I doubt that the Jadis amp can deliver such bass as the Mcintosh can...
thank you for your respond. The sound of these especial Jadis is a amazing. The soundstage is so so huge it's I am in the middle of the music. The bass is very punchy, i feel it in my chest. I am like have to get myself ready for a punch when there is big sound of a drum coming in the music. The clarity of the sound is so sparkling, very sweet.... song after song, I enjoy many songs I have never listen before on my cds... At the moment, I have vintage equipments running these Jadis. The speakers are amazing that only 35 watts of single tube amp can running them to rock level sounding...
Those are really nicely designed horns...if they sound as they look like...I wish I could hear them once...unfortunately, to my knowledge not available here in Thailand.
