    • Audio Research Reference CD-7
    Vacuum tube CD Player
    • Acoustic Solid Solid One
    Mass loaded heavy turntable
    • Acoustic Solid WTB 312
    Wood version
    • van den Hul MC-One
    My oldtimer
    • Transfiguration Orpheus
    Simple audio heaven
    • Krell KCT
I think one of the best uncolored pre-amp
    • Krell FPB-700cx
When connected with KCT thru CAST, it is dynamic and smooth
    • JM Labs Alto Utopia BE
This speaker needs plenty of power to sing and very long break in time.
    • Fadelart Reference One
This one goes from CD to Pre-Amp
    • Vandenhul D502
This IC is between phono stage and pre-amp. I tried many IC's but this cheap IC is doing great job
    • Audioquest Volcano
The 72 Volt new version. I think this one should go soon. I tried some other stuff and believe I will end up with something else
    • Oyaide Tunami GPX
    On Pre-amp
    • Shunyata Black Mamba 2
    On Cd player
    • Starsound Plateu
    On phono stage
    • Starsound Sistrum 4 level
I think full metal stands do not add anything to the sound. I also tried wood stands but did not like them at all. Wood stands make bass loose.

I made many changes and forgot about posting here. May be I am too busy Facebook groups. I will post the new setup soon.

Hi Haroon,
I never thought I should hear hiss from the speakers. I just tried for you and heard almost nothing. Alto has an efficient tweeter and there is a little hiss, but I cannot hear anything from 1 meter distance. I only turned on pre and power amps. I do not use any sort of power conditioning.

I asked the Transparent dealer to lend me a pair of Ultra IC and speaker cable. I check what will happen. I cannot afford anything more expensive.

Hi Mikeduke,
When I bought the Alto's the 1037 was not available. I auditioned 1037 at several locations. I think this one has the best price/performance ratio in JM Lab range. I can honestly say that there is not to much difference between Alto and 1037. My listening room is well damped but it is still very hard to compensate the forwardness of the berrylium tweeter. Anyway the definition of the berrylium is super.

Hi Greggare,
I upgraded to Alto's about 8 months ago. I used to have a pair of AudioPhysic Avanti 3's. The old speakers were actually more musical but with some limitations. I usually listen to the music at high volumes. This was the main reason I bought JM Lab. Alto is a great choice for definition of the whole frequency range. The only problem I am encountering is the Berrilium tweeter. I think it is too forward sounding unit. I compansated the problem later with an old speaker cable named Esoteric Research.
