Hi Franks,
I really like the Purepower. It doesn't restrict dynamics with my amps. It really cleans up the incoming power. Excellent black background and grain free sound.

snopro

Great system. I have the Zu Soul Supreme with an Atmasphere OTL. I'm curious how you like the Pure Power. Any downside particularly with the amps?

Thanks, Early.

Hi Joe,
Sorry it took so long to get back to you. I cross the Undertones over at around 32, and I have the volume turned up to about 5. I keep turning the Undertone volume up and haven't reached the point where the subs stand out yet.
Regards
Scott

Hi Early,
Can you tell me at what frequency you are crossing the Undertone to the Druids at?
Thanks,
Joe

Hey Tbromgard,
The light is from Ikea. It is a led with a flexible neck. Don't remember the model #, but there are a lot to choose from.

snopro

Great system! I too own the DruidV and just last week got a second undertone. Really a big improvement. Bass is definitely directional, and having it come from 2 channels adds to the seamlessness of the speakers, and just creates more magic.

Snopro-
Nice room. What type of light is that over your TT? Where did you get it? Thanks

Hi Charles,
I heard the Zu Def. IV's at a Zu party in New Jersey. I heard their potential in that set-up. Most full range drivers of years past always had a shouty or peaky sound to them, which I didn't like.
These Zu's were different, so after reading the long post about the Druid V's and Def. IV's I took the plunge. I'm happy I did!
The Undertone sub really fills out the bottom end & mates seamlessly with the Druids. This is the best bass I ever had in my room! Fast, tight, deep, with wonderful detail and texture.
I will try some tube amps also. I ordered a Decware Torii III. I read it has some qualities of Set amps in the mids and treble, but bass like a PP.
The built time is around 3 months. We shall see.

Snopro,
I can understand the change in direction you`ve made. What motivated you to make this change? I did the same 4 years ago and glad I did.

System edited: I went the hi-efficient low wattage route.
Went with Zu Audio Druid V and Undertone sub speakers. I
changed the amp to a First Watt J2. The sound is
fast,lively,dynamic,transparent,with a nice tonal
balance. The soundstage is wide and has nice layered depth.
I'm happy with the results.

Hi Ira,
I changed the caps in the power supply to oil caps also put in two custom chokes. I changed the transformers, output caps, resistors, tube sockets, rca sockets.
I also changed the volume control to a Dact resistor attenuator.

All these changes really brought the sound to a different level.

Hi,

I've got a Supratek Syrah and was curious as to what mods you did to your Sauvignon?

Hi Milpai,
Those triangle pieces are echo buster corner traps.
Thanks, the room is a relaxing place to listen to music.

snopro

Snopro,
Your room is certainly not small, compared to many others on this forum and mine. Superbly setup room. Though there is quite some stuff in the room, the layout is neat and clean...that is what I liked. Also, the room treatments are not obtrusive. What are those triangle traps on the corners? Can you please provide some details?

milpai

Yes Kevin, He stop for a while, but started making preamps again last I heard.

Hi G,
It's been a while, but the Gran Corona was a little more fleshed out on my SACD player. The Lessloss is a very good cord. Just had better synergy with the Sablon.

snopro

Nice lookin' room - very relaxing feel to it. Cool looking floor boards. Is the Ausie amp/preamp company still around? I heard he makes great gear. Congrats.

kevinzoe

Beautiful System! What is your opinion between the Lessloss Signature pc and the Sablon Gran Robusto? I see you've owned them both. Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

g_goodwin

Snopro,
Please tell us more on the room treatments. BTW, nicely put together system. Love the looks. I bet it sounds great.

milpai

Love the Salks!!

Owner
thanks, will try diffusers in the future.
Yes, I have panels on the first reflection points on the ceiling.

snopro

Well done!

Really like your component selection and PurePower and Room Treatments.

Where are the diffusers? Do you have acoustic panels for the ceiling as well?

lapierre

What's the story behind the sound treatments?
Source/Brand?
Audio tuning method?
cost/benefit ratio?

Nice to look at.

First time I have seen free-hanging sound treatments.

conanb

Beautiful room, sound treatments integrated into the room well, it looks good. Wow on the equipment side, would love to hear the Salk's, must be able to see into the music even without the telescope. Happy and comfortable listening.
