Hi Nissan - thanks - the Rythmik F15 easily surpassed the performance of the pair of Revel B12's - it was NOT a close contest. I have the shut -off frequency set at 20Hz and the upper end roll off starts at 36Hz and I run the Maggies full range. NO problem with speed, overhang, articulation or smear with the sub, due in part to the sub and in part to the bass module of the ART system. The Cathedral Sound panels help a bit too at higher volumes.
Hi Mike, I have used Echo Busters in the past, but since the ART system has been installed, they are now gone - there was no need for them any longer. The Cathedral panels do not dampen the room's basic acoustics as the Echo Buster panels do - if the room is live, then it stays live, just with far better bass pitch control and less midrange conjestion. The Cathedrals eliminate standing waves using the Venturi effect, which cleans up the mids and bass. I have absolutely NO idea how the ARTS system would work in a multi channel environment, not do I care. My music system is strictly 2 channel - I have a decent home theater system in another room.
Hi Mike, Actually the pic was taken while I was trying something I read on A-Gon one time about putting the tweeters IN rather than out. It worked somewhat, but I was unhappy with the results, so the tweeters are now back on the outsides of the speakers. I do have (4) Cathedral sound panels ( 2 in front upper corners, 2 in the rear) for getting rid of standing waves in the room and I have used Echo Buster panels before, but the ARTS system has really enveloped me with a wrap around soundstage and kept the room fairly live ( unlike absorbtive panels) while giving the low frequencies even more definition and precision. I listen to a lot of acoustic music and the ARTS system has certainly added to the "you are there" experience of playback when using well recorded material - you cannot help but be drawn into the performance now. I am in the process of taking some new pics with the Arts system in place.
System edited: Just added the Acoustic Art system, Audio Magic Pulse Gen ZX ( in the cd player) and upgraded speaker cable from Precision Ref to Apex. The realism of the system when playing well recorded acoustic music is phenominal!
Hi Jeff, I made a set of eight 15" jumpers from some old Siltech LS2-90 speaker cables using BFA bananas from Furutech. They allow me to move the crossover box far enough away that I can set them on the ClearAudio Magix supports.
Hi Tympani, Thanks for your comments. I have managed to wring every last drop of resolution and musicality from the system ( at least as far as I know). I did the same thing - S/R power cords first then the signal cables. My soundstage is so deep it sounds like there is NO back wall behind the speakers and the imaging is no only precise, but also 3 dimensional with the S/R signal cables. The one cable that was debatable in my mind was the cd to pre where I was torn between the Acoustic References and the Apex. I got the Apex, but there were some aspects of the Acoustic Ref on some live jazz recordings that I miss ( I think).
