John,

I'm glad you've put up photos of your system with all of your new additions. It looks great and I'm sure that it sounds wonderful!

By the way, I finally put the WA-Quantum fuse chip on my fuse in the Musician III Mk.2 Saturday. It was a nice improvement right away. After 30 minutes though, I turned my computer off and just sat there in total amazement!

I called The Cable Company today to tell you, but you weren't in. Thanks for recommending it, it was everything you said it'd be!

Hi Nissan - thanks - the Rythmik F15 easily surpassed the performance of the pair of Revel B12's - it was NOT a close contest. I have the shut -off frequency set at 20Hz and the upper end roll off starts at 36Hz and I run the Maggies full range. NO problem with speed, overhang, articulation or smear with the sub, due in part to the sub and in part to the bass module of the ART system. The Cathedral Sound panels help a bit too at higher volumes.

Well done sir, well done. Have not seem many Maggie, Rythmik combo's, thought I cornered the market on that, just joking. Nice looking set up and I know from personal experience that the Rythmik is a sub to run with the best, but then again seems the Maggies hold their own as well.

Thanks again for the reply. That is just the kind of info I was looking for. My dealer is recommending the ARTS as well. So the two seem to work on different aspects and compliment each other. That is good to know. I just ordered a set of the panels this morning. I am getting a TT soon and my dealer will bring over the ARTS so I can hear what it does in my room.
Thanks again

Jwpstayman, Do you think the ARTS system is a must have item? I have all Synergistic cables as well and I can't imagine it getting any better. I also have the Powercell power conditioner and Teslaplex outlet. If you have not done so already, get a demo of this unit and you get a free Teslaplex outlet. The best outlet I ever tried and a must for an all Synergistic system. The Powercell will bring even more dynamics to your system. Simply amazing and worth a try. It is not subtle. That is what I'm looking for with the ARTS. Not subtle improvements.

I also use the Cathedral Sound Panels and always thought they did nothing. I had them over a year. I guess I should try removing them and see what happens.

BTW, awesome system!

Thanks, Joe

Hi Mike,
I have used Echo Busters in the past, but since the ART system has been installed, they are now gone - there was no need for them any longer. The Cathedral panels do not dampen the room's basic acoustics as the Echo Buster panels do - if the room is live, then it stays live, just with far better bass pitch control and less midrange conjestion. The Cathedrals eliminate standing waves using the Venturi effect, which cleans up the mids and bass. I have absolutely NO idea how the ARTS system would work in a multi channel environment, not do I care. My music system is strictly 2 channel - I have a decent home theater system in another room.

jwpstayman

Sorry for the double post. So those Cathedral sound panels are different than echo busters and the like?

mikeduke

Thanks for the reply. My room is small :(. It really is a limitation. But despite that, I am pretty happy with the sound I get. At this point I don't have any treatments at all. My dealer will bring over the ART system when I get my turntable installed next month. The only thing is my system is a combo 2ch/HT setup. I think people would be surprised at the sound I get for 2ch. I am just wondering how the ART system would work on a HT system. Plus, I am wondering how they would work in a room on their own. Thanks again for the feedback. It was very helpful. So, do you use the echo busters also, or are they gone.

Hi Mike,
Actually the pic was taken while I was trying something I read on A-Gon one time about putting the tweeters IN rather than out. It worked somewhat, but I was unhappy with the results, so the tweeters are now back on the outsides of the speakers.
I do have (4) Cathedral sound panels ( 2 in front upper corners, 2 in the rear) for getting rid of standing waves in the room and I have used Echo Buster panels before, but the ARTS system has really enveloped me with a wrap around soundstage and kept the room fairly live ( unlike absorbtive panels) while giving the low frequencies even more definition and precision. I listen to a lot of acoustic music and the ARTS system has certainly added to the "you are there" experience of playback when using well recorded material - you cannot help but be drawn into the performance now. I am in the process of taking some new pics with the Arts system in place.

jwpstayman

That is one sweet looking setup you have. I am curious about the Acoustic Art system. can you pin down what they did for the room? Did you try more conventional treatments before?
Thanks

System edited: Just added the Acoustic Art system, Audio Magic Pulse Gen ZX ( in the cd player) and upgraded speaker cable from Precision Ref to Apex. The realism of the system when playing well recorded acoustic music is phenominal!

Great system and components.

Which component benefited the most from Synergistic Power Cords?

Hi Jeff,
I made a set of eight 15" jumpers from some old Siltech LS2-90 speaker cables using BFA bananas from Furutech. They allow me to move the crossover box far enough away that I can set them on the ClearAudio Magix supports.

jwpstayman

A great system indeed. I also have the 3.6 and VPI froont end with VPI arm and Audio Technica AT 150MLX cartridge.
How is your crossovers connected? Thanks, Jeff

Hi Tympani,
Thanks for your comments. I have managed to wring every last drop of resolution and musicality from the system ( at least as far as I know). I did the same thing - S/R power cords first then the signal cables. My soundstage is so deep it sounds like there is NO back wall behind the speakers and the imaging is no only precise, but also 3 dimensional with the S/R signal cables. The one cable that was debatable in my mind was the cd to pre where I was torn between the Acoustic References and the Apex. I got the Apex, but there were some aspects of the Acoustic Ref on some live jazz recordings that I miss ( I think).

jwpstayman

Let me be the first to congratulate you on your Very Fine System, from another Maggie lover. I'm curious to hear how the Synergistic cables are working in your setup. I am just starting to switch over to them. Currently working with powercords first. I find what they provide quite amazing.
