Description

I've been a beginner for a year now and I think my system is complete (maybe). If you have any comments or suggestions, feel free to write. I also ran a power line from the breaker to my room in conjuction with a hubell receptical, hospital grade. All componets are placed on maple, hard wood stands 3"in. (see picture) Thank you to all Stereophile guys for all your help and suggestions for last year! Good luck and happy listening!

Have you ever demonstrated the sistrum amplifier stand in your system? It will give you much better isolation of your tube amps and will definitely improve your soundstage. Money back guarantee! It is the best tweek.

That looks like a great sounding system. I have also had success with maple platforms. Maple just works for some reason. Happy listening!

Everything looks really nice. I owned ProAc SuperTower 2 way speakers for 13 years and about 4 years ago began a quest to upgrade speakers. In that timeframe I have owned at least 5 pair of speakers including another pair of ProAc 2.5's. In my opinion, there a ton of speakers out there that embarrass the ProAc line. Your amps are world class and will easily and beautifully drive just about anything on the planet. You might consider a speaker that is not so forward and edgy sounding. Just my opinion is all, very nice system.

Hi Thi,
Nice set up. I also use maple wood platform in all my components even under my monitor stands but I have used the Mpingo and Shunmook isolation feet(if you can afford them)between a platform and components. You will listen more transparency even more 3D sound.
By the way do you like the sound of Siemens CCa 6922s for your CJ 17LS or have you tried them before?
For your information, I have just tried Audience Au24 speaker cables and interconnects in my system. Men! my music is so holographic and seductive. Give a try and you will be amazed. Good luck, Thi!

hello dtanclim
for me i think golden ref very good match with proac because i had try xlo ref and hamonic pro9. but after i try golden ref i fell in love, very musical

happi626

Nice pic's. I'm also using Proac speakers (Response D15) and just got the Golden Reference speaker cables. How do you like the synergy between the Proac and Cardas cables.

Nice set up! What is the purpose of those chopping blocks on top of the Conrad-Johnson? Your preamp may overheat due its vents being blocked. Congratulations!

no it is a maple tabletop i have to saw to piece. wood it does to my system sound 3d dimension is very difference with alot system that i have try, with cost more than my.very focus sound. my mid,low and high it not great but something magical in there , and sound alot of air you could feel the singer in your room. for me i think if someone still used class or other material need to change to wood (maple hard or soft) that help alot
oh and cutting board it not that thick
thank you and happy listening

happi626

I am interested in your comments on your amp stands- they appear to be cutting boards? Did you do much experimentation?

linkster

You have done very well for your self, two thumbs up.
