I compared this unit to the 3.1x balanced and on my system, with the M7, the 4 sign is far far better than the newer 3.1x bal. More natural, fluid and relax, i am now really closed of my analogic turntable sound. Great :-) We tested 3.1x bal later with a M3 preamplifier and the match was really better than with the M7.
