Description

I have finally made all the changes to the room. Thank you all for your suggestions I did most of them. I put rivets in every piece of t-bar and there is enough insolation in the ceiling now to insolate the whole house. I still have a slight ratteling problem but I am not to worried about it as I am moving in October anyway, and get to start from scatch again. My next attempt at a theatre room will be more thought out I am already doing the planning.

Actually its a fixed screen with a gray cinema contour screen. I tried a couple different screens pull downs and what not, but I was having trouble with keystoning and the fixed screen fixed it completly I would never go back. But that depends on what the room requirements are. I tried the white screen prior to the one I have now and for the couple of extra dollars to get the gray screen it made a huge difference in the black and white levels I was able to attain.
Let us know what you decide to go with
Cheers Bill.

Thanks for the interest my room is 12'6" wide by 23' long and only 7'4" to the ceiling. I have had great luck with the sound after a few improvments IE riveting the drop ceiling and more insulation in the ceiling. I also fooled around a lot with setting up the sound stage (with the help of a few very qualified friends) the best for me was locating the front speakers 4 feet from the back wall and 14" in from the side walls and sitting about 9' back. It sounds like your new room will work very well I suspect the 19' ceiling was not helping you out to much. Your new room should fix that problem because you already have some awesome gear to put in it. Let us know how it works out.
