Description

After a long day at dental school I need an escape from reality and music provides a great departure from hectic days. Feel free to comment or recommend other gear. Although my stereo sounds great to me, I have not had the opportunity to hear a lot of hi-fi stuff and thus I am not sure how good my set-up is in comparison to others. Thanks for looking.

Components Toggle details

    • Swan 2.1 se custom
    skiing ninja cross-overs made a huge difference in the sonic character of the speaker vs the regular swan 2.1 se's. really opened them up and let the music float freely.
    • Anthem 225 integrated amp
    Powerful yet refined with an expansive sound stage.
    • Eastern Electric Mini Max DAC 1
    Solid little DAC. I swapped the op amps to the LME4990's which sound great but I continue to listen to the tube output most of the time.

    I would like to get a MAC Mini but this works for now. It actually sounds pretty good after running through the minimax dac
    • Paradigm PW-2200
    Provides plenty of boom for my purposes and integrates rather well with the speakers. It really benefited from a MAC sub cable and a MAC HC power cord.
    • My Audio Cables Ultra Silver
    I have these running from the DAC --> AMP. much more open and detailed than the monsters they replaced.

    connected to the wall with a pangea AC9

Nice system for a student! You have good value componenta. I'm sure it sounds great.

It looks like you have tile floor. You might find the system to sound a little better if you extend the area rug to cover more of the floor in front of the speakers.
