Description

finished my office/listening/theater area. sounds great. padded carpet tiles on the floor help with sound and speaker placement. walls are 2x6 framed within the existing room with 2 layers of blown in insulation separated by a vapor barrier. insulated 5/8" gyp. board ceiling on hat channels. makes for one quiet room. looking for unique and modern solutions for sound panels. room size is 12' x 16' x 7'6" high.

i was running an audio research tube amp with these proac's before, now some of the magic is gone, thinking of switching to different monitors with more bottom end. any suggestions appreciated. thanks

Nice basement & system. You have great taste in budget TT's as well *wink.* Those ProAc's synergize beautifully with Audio Research amplification but you're probably right in contemplating another monitor if you're sticking with the PS Audio amp; the Tablette's are pretty revealing. Perhaps a less analytical speaker with a sweeter treble like the Quad 12L2? The Quad's have great coherence and loads of great bass. Maybe a pair of Duevel Planets - I love mine. One more thing, have you tried pulling your chair & speakers away from the front/rear walls? It could greatly ameliorate some of your acoustic issues as could angling/rotating your whole setup axis to one side or the other 10 to 15 degrees or so.
