Thanks for your comment. The foams really help cleaning up the image and increasing the soundstage depth. I also have some right behind my chair, I sit about 3ft from the back wall. The effect may be less if you have a direct source speaker. However, with the Maggies, it is a huge difference.
Timrhu, I used 3/4-10 thread aluminum rods. The spikes are from audiopoints and nuts are made of brass. The plan was to use brass rods but they are too expensive.
Bobgates, the rack is a DIY project that I built using Mapleshade rack as reference. Mapleshade uses solid maple for the shelves while mine uses pine. They are not as hard and heavy as maple but I think they work out fine.
Timrhu, thanks for the comment. That is the listening seat in the picture. I sit about 6ft away from the speakers and they are about 6ft apart to each other. This is the only position I find to sound the best. Move too far back and the soundstage shrink, too close and I hear midbass bump.
