Description

I've been running a DL-103 through a Soundsmith MCP2. I have a Soundsmith VPI Zephyr but will need a new phono preamp for that - not sure which direction to go with that.
Options I've considered are Soundsmith MMP3, PS Audio GCPH.

    • Denon DL-103
    great value LOMC
    • Rega RB-250
    with Michell techno-weight
    • VPI Industries HW-19 jr

You can't call Hank Williams Jr., Jr. anymore and this is hardly a Jr. either.

    Began life as HW-19 Jr. , I've added over time;

    -MK IV sub-chassis

-Herbie's tenderfoot to replace original sorbothane pucks

    -Mini TNT feet

    -Classic 20lb aluminum platter

    -TNT stainless center weight

    -Periphary ring

    -SAMA motor

I'm using an early VPI PLC to match the SAMA's speed to the 12" platter while waiting to buy a Phoenix Eagle speed control to use with my Roadrunner tach.

Also, I'm having to use an RB-250 till I can find a way to mount my SME M2-9 - there's a clearance issue between the SME's audio cables and my current armboard/sub-chassis setup.

Since I have a Scout motor pod for a 12' platter, I plan to build a new plinth like the Super Scoutmaster That will allow me to just use the Phoenix Falcon PSU that I already have as the Scout motor is low enough wattage for the Falcon (the SAMA draws 7 watts)

Nice system you have there. I have version 1 of the Epic CF-4, and it is overall the best speaker I have ever owned, and I have owned quite a few good ones. I have used solid state, but an just about to go the 300b SET route. Having one built at the moment.
