I want to have a NICE system made up of componets from the 1950's and 1960's. Looking to upgrade my TT to Vintage when I find one. Most of the music I listen to is from that time frame. Jazz and classical. I am amazed how good this gear is.
Dean, The McIntosh MC-30 mono amps are classic. Not only do they provide the "vintage" tube sound, they sound surprisingly modern too. I just picked up a pair and am easily enjoying their smooth top end, luscious midrange and deep bass (although they don't have low frequency control like modern tube amps). This VINTAGE subset of the audio hobby is new to me but I'm just starting to realize the rewards. The MUSIC becomes the center of attention - not because of a compromised sound, but because of the musical, listenable qualities of vintage equipment. Nice rig!
That is a really beautiful system that you have every right to be as proud of as a 1965 Corvette.
When I was in my youth, stereo components, muscle cars and women were tied for signs of one's manhood.
The present really sucks if you ask me, where typing ability on one's cell phone seems to be more important than what used to be the really good things in life.
I too am impressed by your collection. And I also have a pair of Bozak B-302A in my system although they are highly modified. The tweeters in my pair of speakers faded but the woofs and mids matured well. You can see pretty much what I've done on my multi-part blog at http://audiophile-musings.blogspot.com/2012/12/bozak-rebuild-project-part-1.html
So very nice!!! I've read so much about Bozaks that I need to hear them someday. You are just missing a rebuilt Lenco 75, Dual 1029, Garard 301, or Thorens 124 turntable instead of that modern VPI.
