Hello, 883dave,
I also have the SF power 3 for over 2 years; yet it blew twice the resistor already.
May I ask how reliable of yours is and do you plan to replace them; if yes, with what?
I am driving a pair of Maggie 3.6 with the SF and the front ends are the Linn LP12, Tentlabs CD player via a VAC preamp.
The sound is great and sounds real to me.
Please advice
Robert

Sasha is coming for $26K which is superior to both the WP7's and the WP8's.

Clean looks, I am thinking buying the Watt/puppy 7, couldn’t justify the cost for the watt/puppy 8, what is opinion on that?

I see you Milty Zerostat but I don't see your Onzow Zerodust...it's the best.

bruce30

Very clean looking, sweet!!

absolutely beautiful set up and i can only imagine how it sounds. i have had the 7's since they came out and will have them for a while but no where near the level of stuff going into them. still very moved by my sound so yours must be crazy. congrats sir and enjoy the music...

richard_stacy

Great choice of equipment this set up looks very refined i'm sure it sounds it as well.

A great looking room... love the room treatments! Nice gear and fine selection of spare tubes. I'd be proud to own your system.

pdreher

I love it. Well done.

Wow - a serious system with serious acoustic treatments - I bet the room acoustics are awesome! Great job!

Thanks for the info on the Bel Canto and Audio Aero, I think one of the local shops carry Bel Canto, so I will stop by, as for Audio Aero I am not sure if it is available locally.

883dave

Hi very nice set up. If I were you I would have a listen to the new Bel canto CD player. Its very cheap (well you know what I mean!) and would out perform any of the old Levinson stuff if you set it up well. The Audio Aero Capitole SE is a good bet too. Remember both players have built in preamps so can plug direct into your power amp. They sound better that way too.

Happy listening

Tara is my favorite non-networked cable!! Enjoy.

I have checked my area and there are no CEC dealers, next time I travel will see if I can have a listen.

Thanks for the heads up on the Levinson 390, as for cabeling??? At present I am happy with the Tara Labs, the upgraditis is more in the source area at present, first the analog then the digital.

883dave

When I had my Watt/puppy 6's and both ARC and Levinson reference gear, my favorite CDP was the LevinsonNo.390s...a veritable bargain by todays standards (the direct connect feature was eye opening as well). The wilsons also loved Transparent Reference cabling and or MIT Oracle...as in you aint heard 'em till ya hear them on those cables!!

dave_b

If you can have a look and listen to CEC CD players they have a "analog" sound. They are great CD players and won't break the bank.

Realhifi..

I agree, I have looked at his wears, trying to get ideas as to all the offerings in the market

883dave

I'll bet the dealer you purchased the Wisons and the other gear from could help you out on a cd player. Lot's of great choices out there now but I would think a Wilson dealer that knows those speakers inside and out would be invaluable in your quest.

Beautiful system, Sportsterguy!
As for placing the speex on the long wall, Allen Perkins of Immedia taught me to do it that way. It's counterintuitive at first, but it works!
Make sure your head is within 18 inches of the back wakll ... this cancels out a whole slew of unwanted reflective "hash" and ghosting. I'm in a tiny room at the moment, so the Virgos are right on the room's long axis, and my head is the apex of a 75-degree angle between me and the midranges. I can lift a Virgo. Not so sure about a WP8. Invite friends. Provide beer and pizza. Open the keg AFTER positioning has been nailed down. Jmo!
cheers apo

For CDPs, check out the EMM Labs or, if you have $30K burning a hole in your pocket the new APL CD Esoteric rebuild. I heard one this past weekend. True audio nirvana.

girardian

Great system!! I'd be set for life!!!

linnie01

1 bit is the best, I can make you a CD player that you can beet any $10000 or more. Believe it or not. Hill :o)
