I wanted a simpler look. The Linn stuff sold me when I heard it in full Aktiv mode.
It helped that the company is from Glasgow, where I was born and lived until I was 18.
Having lived with this setup now for a while, I am still impressed every time I sit down to listen.
Pull the speakers forward and they melt into the room with such a beautiful sound.
I had analog with a LP12, Ittok LVII and Trioka but unfortunately I could not give it enough playing time.
I have added a AV 5150 Sub to the room, stil playing around with it, but so far it has been a very good addition. Blends very well and sounds very smooth, I have it on spikes which helped alot.
Very impressive on the movie front, canon shots from Master & Commander DTS were just like standing there.
I moved the ProAc sub to a different location and use the High level Neutrik connection which is giving a really good balance in the room.
Finally found a really good sound for me, which is what we all strive for.
Eddiemc-ah the Drum,I was a Milton boy now staying in the West End. Played football at the Vale a couple of times-girlfriend works there with Polaroid.
Find it hard to believe the Windy City beats the Drum. :-)
Eddiemc-ironically I've stayed and lived in Glasgow all my life and I have American kit! I'm sure your system sounds great the guy next door has a Linn system and it sounds good.
