This is my primary system which will be in dedicated listening room (approximately (19' x 17') with a vaulted 10' ceiling sloping down to a 5' kneewall on either side. I mostly listen to jazz (Miles, John Scofield, Kenny Garret, Keith Jarrett, etc.) and some R&B (R Kelly, Jill Scott, Mariah, etc.). I only use the sub when listening to R&B or rap. I recently got the Threshold amp and it is making my Maggies sing. My system has been evolving as I add new components to the mix. I am always open to feedback or suggestions on how to improve this system. Thanks for your time, attention and assistance.
hello...i'm a real fan of maggies...and also threshold to drive them...but lately i have found something that i think is interesting....don't know how your sub is set up...but i use a preamp tubed unit ..such as aes..audio electronic supply...from cary audio with some reasonably upgraded tubes and the mid and upper freq are just killer ..especially vocals and snars..symbals..etc...then put the sub in the system if it is set up to turn everthing over from 80 hertz down ....the system for me really become more involved . meaning thickness in all areas from top to bottom...the aes pre sells for six from aes/cary in apex n.c. or they are selling on gon ,,but not that many pre but if paitent..one will show up..no not mine...hope you find what you are listening for and this may help...remember the music first then equipment....of course we must have good equipment ....dwhitt a goner..i love jazz...raecommendation...jimmy haslip from the yellowjackets has a cd out arc...ch it out....he is a bass player...
