Ok. Ok. Ok.

Hey Spencer.  Been meaning to ask.  What do you use under your SOTA?   Did you make it yourself.   My TT is pretty heavy. What were you thinking you might recommend when you asked me about vibration control awhile back.   I may look into that aspect of both systems.

Thanks Spencer.  I think I mention somewhere below that these are all stock photos of the pieces in my analogue system.

My electronics are actually all  in a heavy cabinet in a separate room adjacent to to living room where the corner horns are.  So, I believe the turntable is very isolated.  It’s high mass and sits on magnetically levitated feet on top of the very heavy cabinet.  I should post pics of my actual rooms someday.  The room with the electronics is lined with thousands of records.

Thanks @tubegb for the kind words.  I don’t believe my system is nearly as refined as those owned by many of the members here but I do think it sounds good and I’m pretty confident in its value.

The K-Horns I know aren’t universally respected around here and I understand that but to me they sound very open and real.  Not for everyone I know.

Thanks Jim, you are certainly welcome anytime.  We might share some mutually cherished tunes (Jason, Junkies, Amber, Caroline, et. al. ) over a fine Oregon Pinot.

Hey Thanks Steve!  My guess would be that you probably know a lot more about the design of my LTA gear than I do myself.  As you probably know, their components are for the most part based on the ideas and OTL circuit designs of David Bearing.

The Pre/Headphone amp sounds just beautiful and even though it’s OTL it powers anything, except maybe electrostatics, and can even work on my speakers.  Anyway, it has some tube richness (not as much as the 834p adds) but is very very good with details.

The matching power amp has about 12 WPC which with my speakers is plenty.  I get 90 db in my listening spot with the knob on the pre amp at just 9.  The amp, I think because of the tubes it employs, EL84s, can produce and grip bass far better than expected from my prior experiences.  The amp has no transformers and is very quiet for a tube amp. I think Analogue through this pair is liquid and rich - which is just what I like.  And although I’m not that expert or experienced in stereo stuff, I believe this gear also delivers excellent detail and balanced harmonics.

Moreover, the sound is just real.  Human.  You know. But really fine.  I think.

I bought these components used or demo, in fact everything in my system, except the linear power supply for the pre-amp and my turntable cartridge, was purchased second hand.
