This has been a dramtic change from my old 2 channel system consisting of Totem Mani-2s and Pass Labs. It's a sad change of equipment but necessary. I am currently building a house and wanted a home theater. Purchasing a couple of Aleph 3's a pair of Totem Model 1's and a Model 1 Signature Center was strictly out of the question financially. I opted to go with a system that would give me all I wanted from a home theater and sacrifice the audio side of things knowing that when I graduate from college I can develope a dedicated 2 channel system.
Near future Plans:
1. Purchase a 34" Widescreen Directview HDTV (not sure what model) and give my 27" to my girlfriend.
2. Purchase a Marantz DV6400 (or something similar DV8400?) universal disc player with better audio and video than my junk Toshiba.
5.1 Pre/Pro with Component video switching, 5.1 in for DVD-Audio, but only one Bass Management setting @ 125Hz, so my whole system is running full range.

just wanted to put in my two cents regarding the sony kvxbr800, which is what i use in my home theater. the quality of the picture is magical, and looks great with my HD cable tv or my denon 2900 dvd player. granted, this tv is not as cool as a plasma or lcd, but i bought it brand new for $1799! can't argue with the price, and the quality of the picture is top notch. i think this model has been replaced by a newer one, but the differences between the two are not that substantial.
