Description

This has been a dramtic change from my old 2 channel system consisting of Totem Mani-2s and Pass Labs. It's a sad change of equipment but necessary. I am currently building a house and wanted a home theater. Purchasing a couple of Aleph 3's a pair of Totem Model 1's and a Model 1 Signature Center was strictly out of the question financially. I opted to go with a system that would give me all I wanted from a home theater and sacrifice the audio side of things knowing that when I graduate from college I can develope a dedicated 2 channel system.

Near future Plans:

1. Purchase a 34" Widescreen Directview HDTV (not sure what model) and give my 27" to my girlfriend.

2. Purchase a Marantz DV6400 (or something similar DV8400?) universal disc player with better audio and video than my junk Toshiba.

All comments are welcome.

Thanks,

Patrick

I've seen the Sony XBR on many ocassions and it is amaqzing, the best you can do aside from CRT front projection in my opinion. It's got the blackest blacks, and all the trimmings. Unfortunately this set is way out of my range. I've actually moved onto looking for 30" widescreens due to cost. Since this is audiogon and not videogon though lets get back to Audio...

I recently added an Outlaw Audio ICBM-1. The greatest help to theater since the pre/pro replaced my Denon receiver.

Anymore audio advice.

Thanks guys for the input,
Patrick

System edited: I added some pictures today, finally. Thanks for the first feedback I've got. I'll look into some King Cobra for the sub, and definitely the Marantz, thanks. Patrick
