Description

This has been a dramtic change from my old 2 channel system consisting of Totem Mani-2s and Pass Labs. It's a sad change of equipment but necessary. I am currently building a house and wanted a home theater. Purchasing a couple of Aleph 3's a pair of Totem Model 1's and a Model 1 Signature Center was strictly out of the question financially. I opted to go with a system that would give me all I wanted from a home theater and sacrifice the audio side of things knowing that when I graduate from college I can develope a dedicated 2 channel system.

Near future Plans:

1. Purchase a 34" Widescreen Directview HDTV (not sure what model) and give my 27" to my girlfriend.

2. Purchase a Marantz DV6400 (or something similar DV8400?) universal disc player with better audio and video than my junk Toshiba.

All comments are welcome.

Thanks,

Patrick

AS far as the TV, I'm in the same boat. I;ve got a 27" Philips tube, and get decent picture, but I want widescreen and HD.
My suggestion, at least the TV I am getting as soon as I can, is the Sony 34" XBR. I worked in a Circuit CIty with it and saw it every day, and I can easily say that when set up correctly, is about the finest picture you'll ever seel

Good luck.

Jon
