I dig the Polks ~ congratz to you for posting this, w/not a few Audiophile elites on here who consider Polks to be for the masses, and not at all for the serious Hi-Fi crowd.  I have a pair of the old SDS speakers in my second system, and they sound really, really fine.  If Polk ever designs a good tweeter [maybe that new ring tweeter, I haven't heard it yet], they will put a hurting on some of these other mid-fi speakers that are so popular now, some simply because of the name and not the sound quality...however, I will have to say that I prefer my Focals to the Polks; they are wonderfully detailed and image like nothing in their price range. But to be fair, the Polks have a slight edge in mid-range, which is understandable since they have 5 mid drivers.
I had some Monitor 40s back in the day, but finally sold them when I realized how many pairs of speakers I had accumulated...got many satisfying years out of them, both for stereo and A/V.
Would love to hear your setup; the amps intrigue me, and I wonder about that combo.
