Hi Dmarkov,
Sorry for the late reply. I didn't receive any message notification and didn't see your post until a couple of minutes ago.
I'm really happy with the Wavac. In fact, I think I couldn't be happier.
It's an incredible rollercoaster. I could use many hifi terms, but they don't make much sense to me, as I never use them to describe a live performance once it's over. If I had to nail it down quickly, I'd say it is very natural. As a result of that, it is trully emotional. It rocks, it's subtle, it has "balls", timbre is natural, and voices and instruments are natural, meaning that not only timbre is natural, that rythm is there, as in live, and that both macro dynamics and small inflections in voices and instruments are there, presented in a natural way: sometimes explosive, sometimes subtle, sometimes vibrant, etc etc. It relly gets to the essence of music. Be prepared to stand up and dance, or to sit down and cry, depending on what you play.
I am currently playing some drum tracks with an AN Dac5 running wide open into the ec300b and my left foot (make it leg) is tapping like crazy.
Many people feel it's the best 300b amp that has been made. I wouldn't be able to tell, as I haven't listened to every single amplifier out there or have the intention to do so. What I can personally say, is that I was never a fan of 300b amps or ITs, and that this is the best amplifier I have listened so far (by a large margin).
I get a very similar adrenalin rush at home as I do in a gig, and that is great. That is the only reason I got interested in hifi in the first place...
More music!
