Nice to hear that you like it... If I were to spend more it would be in the direction of a Tube DAC like Linear Tube Audio "Aero" I see a mention of tube CD player below
Anita Baker rapture MQA cd sounds incredible. I will have to get the moody blues too of course lol
I am liking the Luxman D-03x. It is a very fine Japan cd player. I can only imagine the presentation and sound of the D-07 and D-10 Reference spinners.
No, I do not own any MQA disc(s). Similar to DSD releases, they are hit-and-miss.
How are you finding the D-03X player by Luxman? I just purchased the same model the other day and have really been liking its sound character. Lots of features to try out though, have you got any MQA releases yet? wonder how they compare to Mo-Fi DSD
my system is the cumlimnation in search of the absolute sound. The only missing factor is a perfectly square room. And yes, I am a fine connoisseur of CD and SACD players to compliment my ever-growing disc collection.
Looks like you are thoroughly enjoying each player in their own rights. Good for you. Do you think you might go the files/server route someday or plan to stick with the discs?
All of my Reference Player(s) are unique in their own house-sound way. Specifically, the Accuphase DP-65v is my Reference cd-only player. Its rich, golden tone, cannot be denied. My AYRE and Esoteric players are tied for best of SACD playback. America and Japan engineering at the finest. Best of both worlds. I will add a Marantz SA-10 player one day soon. Another fine spinner from Japan. Lastly, I am looking for a sweet Tube-CD Player to round out my collection.
I enjoy your contributions across the various Audio Forums.
I remember from years ago, you were following the Marantz. Bit I see that you got to experience the Esoterics, Accuphase, etc. So, among all the players you have, which is your favorite and why
Well done looking system. Santana and Thiel speakers no doubt it rock and rolls. That cabinet finish laminate is a pretty cool item , which one did you get?
Yes, those older Pioneer Elite Receivers were made in Japan. Built to last and had very cool Programming (atmosphere effects). No, those types of electronics are gone. Most everything in 2023 is junk from China.
Yes, I have a few very nice Pioneer items. Players- 59 AVi , BDP-09 , BDP-85.
Interesting system I have a pioneer elite reference receiver from 20 years ago with no HDMI connections. I use optical to connect incoming digital feeds and there are many which is very nice.
It's a really cool receiver and allows you to go from atmospheric effects , can you switch between Theater 1 Theater2, jazz, drama, and the changes spatially between these selections is very impressive. They don't do this anymore which is disappointing as far as I know.
