this room and system is the result of 10 years in High End audio. my
system has been stable for a couple of years (except for transport and
amplifier upgrades within the same brand). the room has been in the
planning stage for about 18 months and i actually moved in a little over
a month ago.
my audio philosphy is to have the system get out
of the way of the event. i like as pure and simple a signal path as
possible and, at this point, prefer passive to active gain stages. i
love all the formats and enjoy having lot's of music.....vinyl is my
favorite but i listen to at least 60% digital. the new room really
reveals the benefits of SACD over redbook.

truely allow the event to be recreated before me. i love the way the
speakers disappear and i am transported to another place/time.
i have choosen my cables, sources, amps, speakers to have as little of their own sound as possible.
recently, i upgraded my digtial transport from the modified Philips
SACD 1000 to the new emmlabs CDSD.....this was a significant step upward
in performance.

Hi Mike, thanks. I was several times in US and once on 1982, for a couple of weeks near you at Lubbock. Back to your marvel of speakers and system, has the Dartzeel the capability to drive correctly these demanding speakers? though they, I suppose, are more efficent of my Eidolon, (I think), they need much more control.

Hi Mike, I know actually you are excited waiting for your MM7, but I can give you a feedback concerning Vicoustic panels. They seem to be very neutral on my room. Sound image is more stable on center and the I feel an increment of the 3dimentional spatial perspective. We are talking about very little changes. My system is composed by Berkeley Alpha (USB and DAC) Spectral gears and Avalon Eidolon. Cables are all MIT and Elrod. I use RealTraps in the corner and at the First Reflection point (I have 1 side wall, only, the other side is open on the rest of living room). I think Vicoustic is an honest company whith beautiful (and effective) products. Hope to see soon pictures of your new MM7. Ciao

thank's Mike. I see what you means. I just tried to remove the picture (which has a glass) installed behind the loudspeakers and sound seams to be more "dead". Looking for diffusers, I found the QRD Difuser like the Razorblade Quadratic Diffuser (from Primacoustic). This kind of diffuser is mainly used to be set backward the listener position, especially when the virtual reflection points are more then 2 meters far away. Did you never used this kind of diffusers and if is the case, why did you abandon the way?
hi Mike, first congratulation for your great system and amazing room. I am involved for my system, on acoustic treatment of my living room (is a semi dedicated music room). I have been initialized to this such kind of "drug" by Jean-Frederich Kuentz (Stereotaipei). My system is: Berkeley Alpha (DAC+USB), Spectral gears and Avalon Eidolon (MIT and Elrod cables). I am looking now for "Diffuser" and I see which you have 3 Skyline diffusers behind the loudspeakers. May I ask you which modification of sound image you obtained introducing this kind of diffusers? Soundstage move forward the speakers?
