Started my journey 2 months ago and have been enjoying it very much. I made the mistake of buying one of those package surround units (didn't know any better). Dissapointed by the nauseating sound being produced by this package multichannel I gave my uncle a call. He is quite knowledgeable when it comes to audio stuff. Right from the start he recommended the MF A3 Integrated as a good starting point for my budget... That's where it all started. Started with B&W 601's, then the 603's then decided they were too bright for me. So I got the Cliffhanger's with the silk dome tweeter. http://www.cliffhangeraudio.com/speakers/2/index.html Presently I'm using less than perfect IC's but am trying to decide whether to get some Cardas Golden Cross or a PS Audio P300 Power Plant. I know the IC's will make a huge difference, but I think the Power Plant will make more of a difference throughout the whole system and will therefore be a better investment in the system. One more thing, should I get the Etude upgrade for the MD? is it really worth it? Anyways I am a Univ student and am spending most of my income on this joy of a hobby. buckingham, i'm new to the hifi world also, got into it this past august. i've picked up a bit of advice along the way and i can say that the ps audio p300 will very likely improve your system. as always, audition before purchase, but you will likely keep it after hearing it. just remember it isn't really meant for amplifiers over 50 wpc, so it will likely power your front end. regarding the md tuner you have. most opinions i have come across express this idea: radio broadcast is hardly hifi. if i were in your position i would put my dollars into the ps audio and/or ics. the ics will likely be the most afforable change to make. on the recommendation of a gentleman i have come to trust i purchased ics and sp cable from alpha core. the copper ics alpha core manufacture are an exceptional value at $80/1m (worth 3 times that imo, if not more based on what i get out of them) pair of the copper micro purl and tourmaline ics. alpha core's m2 flat sp cable is awesome. you owe it to yourself to check this wire out. have fun with the new hobby. email me if you want to chat hifi fujindemon
