Hi, Ozy, I kinda wonder about that to...a bit of diffusion with the rack in the middle. We have similar room arrangements. I really just don't have a good spot on sides...I could move all the front end equipment all the way to the rear..but then it's 50ft of interconnect vs 3 ft.

I know others say this is important...and I ams sure it'll change something...everything seemingly does!

Just out of curiosity, did you try the Vivaldi direct? On my Scarlatti I did prefer my preamp in place...although the Scarlatti was more transparent going direct...seems to not have the demetionality via a preamp.
