Upgraded the system with Audio Note Japan Ongaku , CEC TL0X Cd Transport, DCS ELGAR packaghe , clearaudio turntable with Gold Finger cartridge . The LP collection is slowly growing . Few items left the system.
Still in love with this hobby and enjoy my music as always and forever......
Maybe no absolutely perfect products--but it is certainly possible to obtain-with great equipment-outstanding sound with proper placement and room treatment. I think you'd be stunned at how nice your stuff could sound set up better than you show it. That goes for any combination of equipment you happen to fancy at a given time.
I think my friends are missing some points here. through years of experience I have come to the conclusion that there is no such a thing as perfect amp or pre amp or loudspeaker or cd player. Specific high end audio gears are designed for specific type of music and I have the luxury of switching to my options of my preferred amp or pre or cd player for that specific type of music I wish to listen and never miss the beauty of it. The problem is loosing acoustic nirvana which is ok !
I'm reminded of what a rather famous relative of mine (Norwegian) said when asked about his "adventures". He said he didn't go on adventures; he went on carefully planned "expeditions". "Planning is the key to success." He was 1st to some very remote areas.
With respect. You have invested money but it is obvious you don't know how to set up for good sound. Would you like some unbiased help to unlock the beauty that lies withing your components. Right now you certainly don't have good sound. Is great sound and music not the goal?
It is a nice looking piece of gear as well (the CEC) and reminds me of the Esoteric P-0s transport with separate power supply or any high-end turntable! Thank you for the info....
CEC TL0x is a belt drive cd transport . very transparent , revealing, precise with a very high resolution . it is from a very small company in Japan and I first heard about it in Stereophile a few years ago. I use it with Accuphase DP101 converter and sometimes with DCS converter. The sound is incredible . Unfortunately very very expensive !!!!!
Thanks. I am enjoying all of my amps and pre amps and speakers. I occasionally switch them and since I believe there is no such a thing as perfect amp or pre amp or speakers this gives an opportunity to change from one to another. Do you know persian calligraphy ? Thanks again for your comment !
Echoing the comments of others on the software collection; very impressive indeed! I'm not familiar with the CEC transport; how did you come upon that piece of gear and what do you think of it?
wow, that is quite a collection, including the Persian poetry on the wall :) Three totally different speakers and extremely opposite kind of preamp and amp, I would say you are pretty adventurous :) congratulation and happy listening.
Congrats on your system and your software collection! I am sure the Krell KCT works extremelly well with the 700CX. Do you use them to drive the Wilson Maxx?
It is very interesting you have in the same room several speakers.
You asked clearaudio master reference in another post, but you had no response, did you ever try it ? i found a very good deal with a tt2 arm i really like to hear what you think L
Thanks for your comment on my set. You have a very nice set yourself! I'm usinf the following tubes for the Ankoru: 845 = Shuguang Metal Plates 300 B = Western Electric 5Y3 = General Electric 6X5 = Bendix 5852 5R4 = Chatham 7044 = General electric
What about your tubes? Did you try a lot different brands? Regards.
Wonderful system, especially all those classical LP's. Do you use your Revox much? I use my rtr's to make custom playback material and with your classical collection I would be in heaven. Congrats.
Geez..if that's not 'there",then I'll NEVER know what 'there' is! With digs like that,I'm ready to sign on as your personal butler-no monies exchanged, just periodic access to the sound system. Do we have a deal? (Oh..well,thanks anyway)
Thanks! SE tube amps are not really powerful enough to handle the full cresendo on orchestral work with MAXX . I however enjoy them very much on chamber and vocal music . The air tight ATM3 is 110 W in push pull mode and easily handles the MAXX. The Epsilons are also great as planar speakers with Accuphase A50v driving woofer and Air Tights driving mid/tweeter. All of these equipments have their own characteristics and feelings. The collection of over 7000 classical LPS is a result of over 30 years of carefully selecting and reviewing around the globe and a real treasure.
Very nice system....I remember the Infinity IRS Epsilons. How have they held up over the years, i.e., do you still enjoy their sound compared to current offerings? I love the way you have the shelves built to display your CD and LP collection! Do you find they damp the sound in the room excessively or does it all balance out nicely with the room and all in it?
