Beautiful system, balanced system, but if I were you I would be itching to move up the chain of shindo preamps. Perhaps to a VR.

Very handsome room with nicely complimenting equipment cabinet and Altecs. The size of your listening space should really lets the Altecs breath allowing the sound to develop. Shindo seems popular w/ Altecs. There must be real synergy there.
I too use Altecs w/ tubes though a step down (AES Superamp MkII > Model 15's) in a small room. Still impressive but they act like near field monitors so I am missing that huge soundstage you have. I love your system.

SB Touch with TTouch power supply. I'm currently using Soundcheck's SB Touch firmware mods with much success. It makes for a very nice transport.

This is an absolutely beautiful system, congrats. For your digital I would recommend going to a Linn DS. this is the route I have taken I finally am satisfied. Happy listening.

System edited: New DAC added... Not much press out on the Audial Model S; however it's a true diamond in the ruff. It had no problems dethroning the Altmann when it came down to musicality.

Maybe a TT someday, but I seriously doubt it. Digital done correctly can get you there; plus it is incredibly more convenient. Ever since I introduced an emotion-invoking digital source, I listen all the time. More beautiful music than you can imagine is only a click away. However, the path to digital greatness is not an easy one...
