This combination is very musical, dynamic and realistic. It sounds like the performers are in the room including, jazz, blues, rock, and classical.
I have 26 bass traps (from 2" to 8" thick) in the room. The room is L-shaped with the vertical of the L being 16x34 and the horizontal of the L being 20x18. The theater is at the top of the L, with the seating area being 17' back.
The stage area is not finished yet - determining best speaker placement before it is finished.
I reorganized the electronics a bit. I have replaced the Kisto with a Halcro SSP-200 and a dm10 for 2-channel.
With a system like your you should be a member of www.whatsbestforum.com One of the only big players we don't have is the YG Acoustics. A great system. We promise to be polite and treat you nice.
IMO It is the best system on Agone-hands down. Any one who owns Yg knows how far ahead they are in technology, build & sound quality. The only Box speakers that has the clarity/resolution/transpancy/speed of the best electrostates (ML CLX is considered by many as the best) & the YG's best the ML Clx in the catogies listed above & blows them away in the bass & build quality.
Yg has to be the most solid speaker built today-flawless fit & finish, "ballistic" grade aluminum & titanum alloy used in the front baffles!
To have so many YG speakers in one system & w/the matching amps & other compononents, cabling, ect. is mind boggling!.
This is easily a 1/4 million dollar + + set-up! This would be a system I would get on a plane to just listen to for a day!!
When I hit the lottery my system will be this one!!
Sherpa, the YG is an awesome center channel, voices are clear and articulate - the best I have heard.
I did order it as a center channel. It is the top module of an ANAT II. Instead of having the mounting hardware on the bottom, it has holes for feet on one side. I don't use the feet as I have it on the top of a Sistrum rack. Other than that, I don't believe there is anything different about it.
System edited: The system is now 7.1 with the added ANAT studio speakers for the sides. Also, I updated the camelot roundtable to a Sony bluray player (this was done a while ago but I never updated it here). The next upgrade should be in the next couple of weeks.
Hi Kevinm, awesome system would love to hear. I also use the same Stealth product through out my set-up and was curious if you have had a chance to hear the new IC's, if so your thoughts.
Yes, I ended up getting a Halcro SSP-220, huge improvement over the Linn Kisto that I replaced. Watching a blu-ray movie with the lossless audio is a huge upgrade that I would definetely recommend.
System edited: I'll post new pictures later, as I've replaced the Linn Kisto with a Halcro 200, added a Halcro dM10 for two channel, and replaced the Linn Solos on the center channel with a single Halcro dM78. All of these have been significant changes. The dM10 is much better for balanced two channel than the Kisto - very quiet and very musical.
Mapman, I had to put in quite a few bass traps (4", 6" and 8" depending on placement). Additionally, I put velvet drapes on each side as you face the screen. One side has a floor to ceiling glass door with a floor to ceiling window on each side of it (it was a bit trickier). I use heavy wooden blinds on all three with a bass trap in between and then the curtains in front of it all. To balance it out I did a similar thing on the opposite wall.
The panels and curtains made a big improvement in the room.
