Harold, I got the damping sheets to try on the large expanses of aluminum on my Terminator, and for the arm tube of my Zeta. My Helius Omega Silver/Ruby doesn't require it---designer Geoffrey Owen is an expert in materials science (he does work for NASA), and the arm is constructed using variable mass to control resonances. The Decapod top plate on my London Super Gold is unlikely to benefit from the sheets, as is my Reference, which has a machined body. These Londons are not my father's Deccas!
Thanks Harold. I just got some EAR TAD Damping Foil from Michael Percy to try. I'll add a Sonic Barrier Damping Sheet in my next Parts Express order. My London Super Gold has the Decapod, so I'm not sure it would benefit from constrained layer damping, presumably between the pickup and headshell. I got my Terminator specifically because Vic used a London Reference on his.
Harold, is the black material seen on the slider section of the Terminator arm some kind of damping material? May I ask what it is, specifically? Thanks---Eric.
