My Musical Fidelity A5.5 integrated amp served me well for several years but I got the itch. Early in 2020, a Pass Labs XP10 and X250.8 took its place.   I upgraded my phono preamp to a Herron VTPH-2a recently and am loving it!

    • Thorens TD-147
    Pretty much a stock TD147 with TP16mkIII tonearm.  Currently fitted with a Grace F-8c cartridge
    • Herron Audio VTPH-2a Phono Preamp
    This took the place of a PS Audio GCPH that I had been using for several years.  I love this upgrade!
    • Nakamichi BX-300
    Willie Hermann fixed this one up for me. Highly recommended.
    • Arcam Arcam FMJ 23t
    just replaced the laser...a much easier DIY job than I anticipated.
    Update:
    Replaced the entire transport with a NOS Sony that I found on ebay.  Much better result.

    Heavy cables that you could jump start a car with.  Lots of copper!

System edited: added the PS Audio phono preamp a few months ago and found it to be a big upgrade over the on board preamp in the MF A5.5

System edited: added photo of my "new" Thorens. This is a great way for us "poor folks" to experience Swiss/German engineering for a lot less than the cost of a Mercedes or BMW. Vinyl is cool again...Groovy!

System edited: I just replaced my old Yamaha turntable with a Thorens td-147 that I got through A'gon. This table is beautiful to look at and sounds terrific!

what about interconnects for cd and dvd? I have the best monsters that I could buy from Best Buys on now. Would the blue jeans ic's be a significant upgrade? I don't want to spend a ton of $ if I don't have to.
