Samhar, The cable elevators are a hold-over from another system (Sonus Faber Amatis and different electronics and cables). So when I installed my new(er) speaker wires, Kimber KS 3033s, the cable elevators were already there. I can't, therefore, evaluate what sonic contributions, if any, the elevators make. From the visual point of view, however, the elevators make for a neater looking installation, at least in my opinion.
I am moving in the direction of an all balanced system, and have replaced the Reimyo CDP (which sounds best in single-ended mode) with a Meridian 808.2.
