For now, this is it !! I love everything about my system, and the synergy of all the components working together creates absolutely beautiful music. The analog front end, being all Rega, has wonderful energy and truth of timbre. The Rotel deck is extremely neutral, and quite "analog sounding." The Rogue Audio Cronus is the perfect centerpiece of this musical feast, and the Vandersteen 1C's bring the musicians right into the room. I can listen for hours and hours, with absolutely no listening fatigue. My vast collection of CD's and LP's sound fantastic.
System edited: Well, my friends........A major upgrade. I just replaced my trustworthy NAD 533/Rega glass platter/Goldring Elektra analog front end with a brand new Rega P3-24 table with a Rega Exact 2 cartridge. WOW !!!.....considerable improvemnt in all areas. I am thrilled. This system has reached new levels of musicality and enjoyment.
Wow,...Thanks a lot guys. I really appreciate all your positive comments about my system. Chashmal....I can easily re-position my Fender amp....Katkrazy....Your comments are right on ! What else is in your system now ? What's driving the Sonata ? Happy Listening !!
Adam, just had to compliment you on putting together such a fine system that I myself would certainly enjoy, offering musicality, practicality, and a healthy dose of "just plain fun to listen to." And with an eye towards value! Having happily owned the 1Cs and several NAD and AQ products over the years, it's easy to relate to your component selections. In fact, I'm actually purchasing King Cobras and a Sonata for my system this week. Great taste, and happy listening, sir!
Great rig you got there. Just a note: you would get better response from those speakers if the guitar amp was not so close to them (magnetic interference). Many hardcores will not even have another speaker in the room. I knew one guy who refused to have a phone in his listening room for this reason.
Hi Chris.....Thanks for your comment. You're asking an excellent question. Yes....my CD's sound wonderful through my Rotel (I see that you also have the RCD-1072), much better than they did through my former digital front end (Marantz CD-63 SE w/ Musical Fidelity X10D....an excellent rig, but not as "warm and rich" as the Rotel.) I therefore want my LP's to sound better too. I'm extremely happy with my current analog set-up, as my LP's sing sweet music, but, one day, when I have some extra dinero,....well, you know the routine !! Happy Listening, my friend.
