Nice System! Mine is a 'little' more modest (but I do have a McIntosh C220 preamp).

I wondered if you tried listening in the 'other axis' in your room (i.e., speakers on 'short' wall, pulled away from surfaces)? Your setup looks similar to the Joachim Gerhard (sp?) recommendations with listener on one (long) wall, speakers widely separated along the opposite side long wall. I am tempted to swing my setup around like that.

I think having the ears within a foot or something of the back wall negates problems with reflections off that surface; the ear doesn't hear it as a separate sound source.

Seems from your comments that you get a lot of depth perception from your system (my Holy Grail!) ...

Guess I just have to try it ... ugh. But it could have benefits.
