room size is 15x23x11 with peaks to 14' - the back is open to the rest of the house. It took me many tries with tons of different equipment to finally get close to what I wanted ;)

Hi Dev, sorry it took so long to answer. Is there anyway to get notified of new comments??
The Ushers are very easy and average around 7-8ohm. I went with the 52 because I was able to trade some gear and $$ for it - it was brand new from a dealer. I ordered some silent fans(7db) from overseas - I found them in the threat you told me about. I have the original fans disconnected and the covers off while I wait for the new fans.
after the system shown here I bought some Innersound Kayas and the Lamm M1.2 amps. That was a nice combination but I didn't like the restricted listening position. I got a Modwright Transporter and ran it direct to the amps - didn't like that so I bought a Lamm L2 Ref. linestage. The L2 was sold and I got a Navison II, Emotive Audio Sira 2, Nat Utopia, Accustic Arts MK III - all those were sold. I then sold the Kaya's and bought some Usher BE-20's which I LOVE. They sounded very good with the Lamms but I wanted a little more tube sound. So, I sold the Emotive and the Lamms and bought the Audio Research Ref. 210's and a BAT VK-52SE. I still have the MW Transporter - the system sounds fantastic ;) I'll be putting my system up shortly ;-)
BTW: The 211's and Sophia 300b's were a very nice match - great detail with a bit of warmth - nice extension at both ends.
Pierre: I didn't analyze the room with any devices - just my ears - the GIK tricorners only fit in corners so that was easy - same as the 8th Nerve upper corners. The first reflection points were easy too. At one point I had 2 GIK 242's behind the rack and 4'x8'x2" panels at the FRP's - that was WAY to much and made the system sound dead...
I'll keep using the Fusion cable with whatever I get - these relatively unknown cables are really special I think ;)
Linnie01: yeah I saw your ladder a few months ago and was suprised ;) Ours was used in downtown St. Augustine in the late 1800's to add oil to the oil burning lamps that were through out the city ;)
Thanks Lapierre. I tried several tubes, Raytheaon 5751, Tele's, Tungsol etc.. and just decided to spend the $$ on the M10's. I based this on what others here have written about the M10's and the Calypso. The M10's were worth the $500 ;)
I had my now sold Supratek Burgundy's on the 5A's and they were outstanding. The are a 4 chassis set that took up too much space so I tried some Pass 600.5 monos and only had them for 2 weeks. I prefer tube amps with the 5A's. I got the Cary's based again on user reviews and am VERY happy with them. They have quiet a bit more drive that the Supra's and the 5A's never sound compressed at higher listening levels. I think the Carys are excellent with the 5A's and won't be looking for other amps in the foreseeable future ;)
thanks guys ;) I like all sorts of music. Mostly vocal jazz, 50-60's jazz, progressive rock etc.. I'll post some more(better) pics when I get back from RMAF. Tony
