I have been playing with this system for years now, and really hadn't been happy until the addition of the 800D's. The Diamond speakers are certainly the best thing that B&W has come out with yet. Still haven't decided if I'm sticking with high-res stuff. Finally have all signal cables from Synergistic and all power cables from Shunyata. Any suggestions are welcome.
I listen many times to the 800 Signatures with the Omega Omicrons and Omega preamp and Omega sacd player with Cardas Golden Ref cables, and I never liked the sound. It is not involving and the individual focus is not on a level I would like. Maybe you should listen to the more powerfull Chord amps. I still haven't had the change to listen to the MF KW750. I play with the latest Meridian 800 DAX v4 ( special adapted by Meridian to play 2 channel), which is superior in every aspect to the Omega player. I play with a modified MF Nu-vista 300 with new transformers which give more than 70% electriciti compared to the normal transformers. I also use new elco's which are a lot faster and they also give more resolution. cables between psu and power are Nordost Valhalla. And the powercable to the main of the Nu-Vista is a new Purist Audio Aqueous. I also play with bi-amp Valhalla loudspeakercable. This combination is superior than the Omega set which I heard many many times. My system has so much more resolution, superior individual focus and more speed and control. And voices and instrument are more natural.
I know the speaker cable and the interlink very well. You loose a lot of informatione in the middle freq. Just try for once a Valhalla loudspeaker cable and you will be chocked.I never likes B&W with ML, you miss a lot. Try it with Chord or the expensive Musical Fidelity's. Try a Meridian 808 cd player, you will get more resolution and more involvement. Try the new Purist powercables.
