Hi Sunnyboy, Yes I still have it. But nothing like spinning a record, as you know. I'm in the process of adding a home theater with my current system. I'm taking my Arcam AVP 700 surround processor and a B&K Sonota 5 channel amplifier, out of my master bedroom to use. I have on order a pair of Vandersteen VSM Signature speakers that I will use for the rear channels. Also a Vandersteen VCI Center channel. All I need is a Rel subwoofer which I'm looking for on audiogon. I'm lucky that my Pass Lab Preamp has a pass through input. This is a nice feature for this application. How is everything going on your end?
I also use 2 TT in main system: Michell GyroSE/Technoarm/Shelter 501 Empire 691/AT 5001/Ortofon 2m Red I switch between them using MM/MC button on my Musical Fidelity X-LPS phono.
Buconero, Alan's TV is mounted on the wall well behind the plane of the speakers. Is moving the plane of that small portion of the rear wall a few inches forward really going to significantly degrade the soundstage? Is there really any significant difference between the absorption and reflectivity of glass and painted plaster or drywall? I doubt it. As to the coffee table, well, some of us have to live in room that combines living and listening. I doubt there's any real difference between a wood and a glass coffee table though. A painted or varnished wood plane is going reflect/block sound pretty much the same as glass.
Alan2, I can't believe what I am seeing in your room. What's that? A glass coffee table, an uncovered TV. The sound reflections should prevent you from 'better sound'. Audio 101, needs to be consulted, and needs to done quickly. You are missing so much.
System edited: Not done yet. Need to send back cables to Kimber to have them made shorter, for the Preamp and Amplifier connection. Also having my VPI Classic 3 setup 5/8/13. It looks like I am going to need a bigger t.v. down the road, for my home theater setup.
