The JLTi and the new S4s made it all come together. I love the way it sounds. Not sure what to do next. I am wondering just how 'much' of a cartridge I could buy before it is 'too much' for the system.
Don't confuse the DL-103 with the DL-S1. The 103 is a vintage-sounding cartridge that's been around forever and had a dynamic, involving sound but it can sound a little uninformative. The DL-S1 is tight, fast, and basically in another league. I think it competes with cartridges in the $1500 range for half the price.
You said you "love the way it sounds" right? So enjoy. Maybe when the Dynavector is ready for rebuild, try something up one price class. The Dynavector 17D3 would represent a small step up. I'm partial to the Denon DL-S1, which is even cheaper and might (depending on whether you like Denon's house cartridge sound) be an even better value.
