I call this my Garage System because that is where it is. But, my garage has french doors, carpet, comfy furniture, wall treatments, accumulated memories from 35 years of working in the film business and early days in R&R (when it was about the music, or at least the sex and drugs). And, it sits back almost 40 feet from the house.
This is only my second tonearm so, I am easily impressed. And, boy am I impressed
Manley Laboratories Steelhead
Replaced the Audio Research 5.
Lyra Titan
The bass in my system increased when I added this cartridge.
Granite Audio 657
I got the red granite faceplate and Don, at Granite, was really excited that I didn't get the grey or black. Only CD player that I have heard that may outperform this is the ARC CD3, at almost 3 times the price. Never heard any of the ten, twenty, thirty thousand dollar players.
Audio Research Reference 3
This replaced my ARC LS 5 MKll. It is still breaking in so, the jury is out at this time if it was a step up or a mistake.
Audio Research VTM 200 mono blocks
Replaced the Theta Dreadnaught
Vandersteen 5A
Upgrade from the Vandersteen 3A Sigs.
Cardas Golden Reference
This connects the Granite Audio CD player to the pre amp
Audioquest Sky
1 meter for the Phono Stage, 10 meters to the amps
Audioquest Volcano
My speaker wires are so short I almost think any brand would work.
Thank you Mapman. Originally it was a Home Theater and the seperation from the rest of the house allowed for theater like sound levels. Eventually I lost interest in HT and it became a great two channel room.
I apologize to all above for never responding. I just now discovered that to see if anyone posted a question or remark on your system you had to search for it. I thought something would pop up on my home page or a email would arrive. Very sorry for not responding.
