Description

This system fits the room nicely. Subwoofer is located behind the TV, near the rear wall. The room is quiet enough that you can hear your heartbeat. Standing waves are at a minimum, as the ceiling varies in height between 7 and 9 feet, and the long dimension of the room is broken by alcoves, and the short dimension is altered by books and CD racks at odd intervals.

The photo somewhat misrepresents the scope of the room, although even here it looks quite a bit larger than the tiny rooms that I see elsewhere holding very large speakers and piles of equipment.

I am quietly looking for another preamp so that I can move the old Meridian 541 upstairs.

Have you tried moving the tv and equipment close to the back wall? Usually it doesn't help the soudstage/imaging to have such a large object in between the speakers. More free air in the middle might be a great "upgrade". You seem to have enough space behind the tv for that.
