Three base kitchen cabinets with glass doors for wall cabinets, and 1.5" butcher block style top stained to match the cabinets. Very stable and heavy and good looking too.
Klyne vs. NAT? NAT is slightly more dynamic, Klyne slightly warmer (yes, Klyne is warmer). Both are very detailed and musical. They sound amazingly similar but I slightly prefer Klyne. Lectron has a web site and it seems it's been updated recently: http://www.jeanmaurerhifi.ch/nos-produits-lectron/ Thank you both for your nice words.
Wow! Thanks, guys. When I designed the room (house), my intention was to try to achieve both good looks and a good sound. I was worried about this much glass behind the speakers, but the view of the lake was just too tempting. Initially, there was an overwhelming amount of the high frequencies and a lack of bass, but with careful speaker, seat, and rug positioning, and acoustic panels on the other 3 walls, I got the sound I wanted. Then, I purchased the sofa, and it placed my ears slightly below the tweeter level. This made it all sound really good. I don't have any corner treatments but at this seat location, the frequency response is amazingly flat. After so much reading I had done about the room treatments and the optimal room dimensions, this came as a major surprise to me. I listen to Minnesota Public Radio a lot and every time my wife comes in, she comments about how beautiful the instrumental colors are. Yes, these Pro Ac's sing with the tubes... and yes, it is very relaxing that I can see the lake at the same time. Thank you again for your positive words.
Timrhu, Thank you for your kind words. Mapleshade wires are so thin, they are almost invisible. I am afraid I could step on them and break them so I hid them under the rug. My first encounter with high end was in the form of Response 3, VAC Renessaince amp, Klimo pre-amp, and Wadia. This was the most seductive system I have ever heard. I still remember the details even though this happened 15 years ago.
