    • Cardas SE 15

    • Elco HPC-10SP
It is well known that static electrical charges can build on the outer jacket of connector wires as a result of them touching charged surfaces (carpet, wooden floor, wall, hand). These static charges could not only detrimentally affect the sound quality, but also destroy expensive Hi-Fi equipment. Surge protectors that are commonly used to protect equipment are well suited for reducing impulse electrical interferences generated in current-conducting wires. However, these devices are not intended to (and can not) eliminate high-voltage charges on cable surfaces. To resolve this problem, the new power cord is equipped with a Static Dissipative Filler (proprietary product of ELCO Audio, Inc.) electrically connected to the ground/shield wire and ensuring immediate neutralization of forming charges. Power Cord HPC-10SP is equipped with modified hospital-grade Arrow Hart wall plug with gold-over-silver plated contacts (tested at 25 amps). A modified Watt-a-Gate with gold-plated contacts serves as an IEC panel socket plug Here are several features that make your system sing with our top of the line AC power cords: 2x10AWG Power wires** 7AWG Ground** WATTaGATE IEC plug with gold-plated contacts** Gold-over-silver plated, Hospital grade ARROW HART wall plug** Heavy tinned copper shield Other characteristics: Cable diameter - 1.25

My personal view :

If u are looking for an affordable SACD player. I think SA15S1 offer that. In term of sound difference between the SA15 & 11, I don't hear much. The only disadvantage of the SA15 is that its only come with Analog RCA out. But anyway, its should not really matter unless u are running longer cable. And of course, SA11 offer more features. There is a filter selection for this model but u are talking about twice the price that u are paying for it as compared to the SA15.

I think its better that u audit the models side by side & do a comparison.

If u are not into SACD, there are really a lot of good redbrook players around. I am thinking of upgrading to a $7K used redbrook player.

I just get back to this hobby recently. I had my first system 15 years ago & given up due to room constrain.

So, do I consider myself a beginner ?

Not really, I get a better soundstage with this distance. However, I am still in the progress of setting up.

I had moved the rack to my bedroom. Currently, equipments are placed on the carpet floor.

Will pose the picture again once ready.

Hey Bruce30, really appreciate your help but anyway I am still making quite a number of changes to my system.

Will update again once it's ready.

A thousand thanks.

On the left hand side of my stand, there is a clock on the rack. On the rack is there lies my sacd player & amp.

Infront, a sofa for me to sit & appreciate my listening.
Of course, I did not take my plasma ( on the wall ), DVD recorder & tuner ( in the rack cabinet ) into consideration

Regards.

Really appreciate your feedback. As I am still learning, I welcome all the advice or feedback from the expert here.

As I used to listening mainly to vocal, pop but not into heavy metal rock, I find that the sound is very musical as what sonus faber is good as it.

What u said is quite correct, I can feel that the sound coming from my right speaker is much pleasing as compared to the left speaker. I tried moving my left speaker ( right side looking at the diagram ) nearer to the side wall beside the kitchen entrance. Soundstage is improved but I still noticed there is a lack of imaging on my left speaker ( maybe the placement of my right speaker is next to a solid wall on the side as u can see from the picture ). As for vocal harshness, I find that its quite ok. My ear don't feel irritated after long hour listening.

Sorry for the bad picture quality ( I used my handphone to capture & download here ).

System edited: Still can improve further. System is o.k for now. I might want to change the outlet sockets & power cable. Might also intend to buy a better conditioner to replace my castle av conditioner on my sacd player.
